As part of its ongoing effort to merge all of its video products into one, Instagram has announced that its 60-second stories videos would no longer be divided into 15-second segments.
Meta has announced the launch of a longer
storytelling format for Instagram. Currently, user-uploaded stories under 60
seconds in length are converted into 15 second clips.
A representative for meta confirmed the
rumours in an email to TechCrunch, writing, "Now you will be able to play
and create tales continuously for up to 60 seconds, rather than being
automatically cut into 15 second clip.
This will be a tremendous relief for
Instagram users, especially those who routinely upload longer video stories.
They tell their stories in 15-second segments. Users will soon be able to
publish non-divided, continuous stories. Additionally, users are not required
to continuously tap in order to watch a long video. It is a drawn-out and
tiresome process.
Instagram is working on this functionality,
according to a tweet by Matt Navarra on Twitter. https://twitter.com/MattNavarra/status/1573446474691760147?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
In order to confirm that Instagram will
soon roll out this functionality, he posted a screenshot to his account.
Instagram has confirmed that films under 60 seconds won't be broken into
halves, the user wrote on Twitter.
Instagram has previously extended the
length of its video offerings. The company increased the length of the
Instagram Reels by up to 90 seconds. The time interval before that was 60
seconds.
The automated sharing of posts with videos
under 15 minutes long as reels is another notable development in the realm of
video.
